B. Imagine that you are planning to set up a home business to do event planning. Indicate 3‐4 technologies that we discussed in class that would help you to make your business
successful. For each technology, explain how it would help the business. Include at least one link to a website that you might use.


If I were to start a home business to do event planning, my first thought would be to make my name known. First I would either have someone create my website, or make my own. Then I would have a video made of my business telling what we do that way people understand my business.
That video would then be put on youtube so that it can be shown on the website. Next I would want to socialize with people of the community. By joining websites like Facebook, Myspace, and twitter I could connect with people. Once people start using my business, it will start a chain reaction. One person will tell a friend, who will tell another friend, and so on. Once my business becomes very successful I may even think about starting a blog.

C. Some people believe that the internet is enhancing social interaction and therefore is a
positive addition to our society. 1.Site two to three examples why someone might make this statement. Include at least 2 website examples and at least 1 technology that was discussed in class. 2. Indicate whether you agree with this statement (and why)

With the use of the internet, social interaction has increased. All hours of the day people have full contact with each other. With use of the internet it is easier to do business, and have conference calls with individuals in other countries. We are also able to take college courses online. I also feel that it makes everyday life simpler for individuals. They can plan parties, invite people to those parties, support a cause, and many other things. Some examples that enhance social interaction are Facebook.com, Myspace.com ,and Blogs.

D. Explain the meaning of the term: “Digital Divide”, who it is affecting and what the issue is. Identify 2 possible solutions to this problem.

The digital divide is the era that we live in. The difference between who has the internet, and computers, to those that don’t. The people who have computers depend on them. Work, school, entertainment, socializing. For everything the internet can be used. Well some people in poorer countries don’t have access to these things. One solution to these problems, is either fundraising of some kind to raise money for the people in these countries.
Also, in the rare circumstance that a celebrity isn’t greedy, some do good things for communities and people of less fortune. So maybe someone will donate a library with computers to somewhere in these countries. This could also start a chain reaction and others will too!

Alright well here is my documentary on suicide. I did it when i was 16 with the organization raw art works in lynn. He told us to do a documentary and i did it. Currently, it has 15,369 views on youtube which is awesome! And has won a number of awards. Please leave comments and let me know what you think. =]
